For Halloween, I like buttercream icings in piping bags. Work in as many fall flavors as you can with this theme and create a chocolate bark with the extra candies from the closet. Have fun with it!”

MANASSAS, VA, UNITED STATES, October 29, 2026 /EINPresswire.com/ -- Victoria Wu of Cakes by Happy Eatery recently joined Elaine Espinola of WUSA9’s Great Day Washington and Fox 5’s Good Day with Steve Chenevey and Mikea Turner to share ideas on what kinds of treats and decor to consider for Halloween 2026.

“For parties or for your Halloween night staging table, select centerpieces and build around them,” says Wu. “We’re doing a really cute ghost cake for someone this year featuring the image of a girl with a big bow and iconic shoes. That table will include Ube rice crispy treats and appropriately decorated chocolate eclairs.”

Wu suggests exploring color themes that branch out beyond orange and black to a more modern vibe such purple and green table décor and basing the overall design on a few bold pieces and “interesting decorations" such as candies, eyeballs, custom fondant cutouts, neon skeleton figurines and ghost-shaped marshmallow stirrers. For a more adult gathering, Wu suggests tinted glassware, velvet pumpkins, and metallic skull centerpieces among other ideas.

This year, Wu notes a rising demand for Halloween Cupcake Stations that are interactive in nature, often expanding beyond standard cupcakes to a wide variety of themed desserts. She also suggests utilizing as many flavor variations as possible, including “raiding the candy closet”—which most households maintain in some capacity—and improvising cupcake flavors from the seasonal sweets already on hand.

“For Halloween, I like buttercream icings in piping bags,” she says. “Work in as many fall flavors as you can with this theme and create a chocolate bark with the extra candies from the closet if you don’t want to do cupcakes. Serve an interesting, but not too sweet beverage to go with dessert – create your own Monster Eye!”

In general, Wu suggests letting your imagination run wild and having fun with — Halloween is one of those holidays where almost anything goes. For more information, go to https://www.CakesbyHappyEatery.com .
